Kid Bayonne

No, she lied - she didn't know

Kid Bayonne got out and was heading home

She pulled her bags from the grocery line

Got to her car and wished she could turn back time

Fifteen months, fifteen rounds

More or less the same

Kid Bayonne stayed on his feet

Fighting for his name

Fighting for his name

It was after work, she was out with friends

When her ex turned up and came at her again

He spun her 'round, fists in the air

But one punch, Kid put him down, into intensive care

Fifteen months, fifteen rounds

More or less the same

Kid Bayonne stayed on his feet

Fighting for his name

Fighting for his name

Any given night, Kid climbed into the ring

Bracing for the blows that he knew every battle brings

Then love hit him like a train he tried out running

And he staggered to his corner like he never saw it coming

She parked nearby, grabbed the milk and bread

Walked up to her door and saw Kid on her steps

Arm in arm, her head on his shoulder

They sat like that for hours and watched the night grow colder
